| Original canon: due South Age: 35 Race: Human Physical description: Ray is a tall, fairly well-built man, best described as lean and wiry. He's caucasian with short dirty blond hair and blue eyes. Sometimes feral, sometimes sweet, his two most popular expressions are 'annoyed' and...'annoyed'. He dresses casual, preferring to wear suit jackets over t-shirts, jeans, and boots. |

| Ray grew up in a middle-class suburb on Miranda. His father worked in a factory as a meat-packer and his mother worked at a shuttle repair shop. When Ray was 13 he met the girl of his dreams, Stella Dubois. Throughout high school he tried desperately to get her to date him, and finally in their junior year she did. Four years later they married. Five years later when Ray was going nowhere in college he dropped out and joined the peacekeeper academy. Stella, in the meanwhile, was working toward a law degree. All of their savings put together bought them a small house in Tifton, and Ray had lofty dreams of a perfect marriage with a dog, kids, and a white picket fence. As the years went by Ray and Stella only grew further apart, there weren't any kids, there wasn't even a dog. Stella became more work-oriented and was often too busy for much of anything but cases and work. Ray took an undercover job with the mob on Oublie, but it ended up taking over a year and by the time Ray came back Stella had the divorce papers ready. While undercover Ray had seen too much, experienced too much, and the divorce and loss of what, to him, was everything, was the straw that broke the camel's back. Ray has been divorced now for almost two years and still believes himself deeply in love with Stella, blaming and resenting his job for breaking up his marriage. He's become reckless and often takes cases most of the other peacekeepers wouldn't touch. His solve rate is okay, but his attitude and irresponsibility hasn't won him many points with his boss. However, he's a good man for the dangerous jobs, and he doesn't shy away from the slums. |

| Ray is charismatic and charming - when he wants to be. He is easily frustrated and annoyed, having little patience for most people. He's tough and intimidating with suspects and usually a little too rough. Though his outlook on life has been broken a little by his 'ruined' life, he drinks too much, he takes too many risks - he is a good man and a good peacekeeper. He's not crooked or dirty. He's loyal down to the bone, and friendly when he feels that someone is worth being friendly with. Deep down he's a romantic and just wants to find some meaning on a planet with not much meaning to offer the average citizen. |
